What was described as one of the biggest meth labs in this area was found Wednesday at a house on E. 19th Street.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division at the request of the East Ridge Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Agency responded to 2302 E. 19th at approximately 6 p.m.
The large meth lab was discovered when the officers entered the residence.
According to detectives on the scene, the house was filled with items used to manufacture meth, including Coleman fuel, acid, liquid heat, lye, Draino and ephedrine along with bottles and glassware.
The lab was so large that assistance was requested from the Chattanooga Police Department narcotics division, the Red Bank Police, the Soddy Daisy Police and the Lookout Mountain Judicial Task Force.
A contracted hazardous material company was called to assist in the scene cleanup.
Timothy Johnson, 34, was arrested in connection with the methamphetamine lab.
He was charged with the promotion, initiation and manufacturing of methamphetamine. Other charges are pending.
