Baylor Swim Club athlete’s Ashley Vance, Kristen Vredveld, and Christian Carbone have posted nationally ranked times so far at the 2010 NCSA National Junior Championships in Orlando Florida. Over 1100 athletes from all over the country are competing in this championship.
Vance placed 6th in the 100 yard breastroke with a time of 1:02.20. This time ranks her fifth nationally for 17 year olds, is a new Baylor School and Baylor swim Club record. Vance also has placed 5th in the 50 breastroke and set a new Baylor swim Club record with a time of 4:21.83 in the 400 Individual medley.
Vredeveld placed 11th in the 100 freestyle and 13th in the 200 freestyle. Both swims are the fastest by a 14 year old in the meet, and now Vredeveld is ranked 3rd nationally in the 100 freestyle and 7th nationally in the 200 freestyle, both times are Baylor Swim Club 13-14 records.
Carbone swam the fastest time by a 15 year old in the meet in the 400 IM clocking a time of 4:00.83 that ranks him currently 13th in his age group nationally.
