People Are More Important Than Anything - And Response

Friday, March 19, 2010

I know most people do not consider themselves bad or mean people. One of my favorite thoughts is that "all people are good" or have have some good in them we can find somewhere.

This past week, a tea party person harrased a helpless soul, and it was caught on video. Awful bad behavior most people wouldn't want to be associated with.

Another group is picketing the return of our fallen soldiers and has been for some months now. This group says the soldier dying was god's work for the punishment of gays. Unfathomable. This is both un-patriotic and mean.

Freedom of Speech has a high price. Have we become such an un-civil society that it is ok for people to act in the name of God that way. Do we just sit back and not even stand up for our soldiers, for our country, for a person in need? Have we lost the freedom to be who and what we are?
Sadly it has become common place for those who want power, money, etc, to try to persuade the masses using personal religion. No matter what you believe to be God, and the dogma so often attached, people have got to come first.

Freedom of Religion has a high price. I could list many great people who have echoed this throughout history. But you already know them. Look around you. Isn't this what you think about the people you love. I would like to encourage you all to be nice. Don't let fear turn you into one of those mean bad people. People need people. "We the People" is more important than anything.....no matter what. We are America.

I agree with you Deborah, evidently those protesters are not reading their Bible. Jesus would not be criticizing soldiers, or harassing individuals. He would be praying for them.
