The candidates for mayor of Bradley County will be sparring in a debate held at Lee University on Tuesday, March 30.
Lee University’s College Republicans and the Bradley County Young Republicans will be hosting the debate.
Mayor D. Gary Davis, the incumbent, is running against Commissioner Lisa Stanbery and Chris Weir for the Republican nomination to be held on May 4. All three are confirmed for the debate.
The debate will be held in the Rose Lecture Hall in the Education Building at Lee University and will begin promptly at 6 p.m.
The debate will be free and open to the public. “It’s my goal that the citizens of Bradley County will have the opportunity to watch professional politicians engage in the free exchange of ideas on the issues impacting the local community,” said Daniel Diffenderfer, chair of Lee University’s College Republicans.
Lee University’s chapter of College Republicans is one of over 1,000 campus organizations affiliated with the College Republican National Committee and one of 13 chapters affiliated with the Tennessee College Republican Committee.
At the conclusion of the debate, a straw poll will be held for those in attendance. For further inquiries, contact Daniel Diffenderfer at ddiffe00@lee.edu.
