William Lewis Vandergriff, 88, of Falling Water, died on Friday, March 19, 2010 at his home.
He was born February 25, 1922 in Lone Oak, Tn., to the late William F. and Ellen Lewis Vandergriff.
Mr. Vandergriff was retired from Hormel Foods after 40 years of service.
He was a member of Falling Water Baptist Church and was a United States Navy veteran serving during World War II.
His son, William W. Vandergriff; brother, John Vandergriff; sisters, Elsie Hartman, Mary Hartman, and Allie Mayberry preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Mary Lucile Vandergriff; son, Kenneth W. (Elaine) Vandergriff; daughter-in-law, Patricia S. Vandergriff, all of Falling Water; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one half-brother, Sam Vandergriff and one half-sister, Rose Ethel Vandergriff.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 21, at 1 p.m. in the North Chapel with Rev. Marcus Clagg officiating. Burial will follow at Chattanooga Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 20, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
