Blockbuster Is Closing St. Elmo Store

  • Monday, March 22, 2010

Blockbuster is closing its St. Elmo store on Tennessee Avenue.

The store is currently selling out its entire stock of movies.

Blockbuster, while repositioning its business, announced last September a plan to shutter 960 of its least-profitable stores.

A company official said Blockbuster is moving to a number of new venues, including use of kiosks, movies by mail and digital downloads.

The store in St. Elmo was formerly the site of the Confederama Civil War attraction.
