The Chattanooga Parks and Recreation Department Therapeutic Recreation Program is hosting “A Night To Remember,” their second annual Spring Prom for individuals of all abilities on Friday, April 9, at the Heritage House Mansion in Heritage Park, 1428 Jenkins Road, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
The Spring Prom provides an opportunity for individuals who have physical, cognitive, social, and/or emotional disabilities and their families to enjoy a real “Prom” experience. Participants are invited to dress up in formal prom attire, enjoy music, and refreshments in the festive setting of the Heritage Park’s formal mansion.
Therapeutic Recreation Program coordinators host at least four dances a year for the citizens of Chattanooga who have disabilities. The goal of these events, like the Spring Prom, is to encourage socialization, foster independence, and provide all participants with a “night to remember.”
The cost is $5 per person (Caregivers are free.) Reservations are being accepted now.
