Charlie Earl Jackson Sr., 63, of Varnell, Ga., died on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Memorial Health Care in Chattanooga.

Mr. Jackson was born March 15, 1946 in Dalton, Ga., a son of the late Monroe and Erie Edith Crump Jackson; and was also preceded in death by his sister, Monteen Walker; and his brothers, David Jackson and Bobby Jackson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Elaine Gribble Jackson of the residence; a daughter and son-in-law, Lora and Rick Ralston, Varnell; son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Melane Jackson, Tunnel Hill; sister and brother-in-law, Maggie and Buel Dunn, Tunnel Hill; brother-in-law, Wes Walker, Ringgold; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Patti and Steve Baker, Calhoun, Ga. and Bill and Ellen Johnson, Adairsville, Ga.; grandchildren, Jordan Ralston, Shelby Ralston, Savanna Welch, Harley Jackson, and Paisley Jackson; great-grandson, Tristan Spence; nieces and nephews, Cindy and Mack Davis, Ron and Jeri Dunn, Susan Harrell, Ricky Walker, Freddie Walker and Jimmy Walker, William Johnson, Adrianne Johnson and Chuck; several great-nieces and nephews; and his loving dog, Lucy.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Charlie Earl Jackson Sr. will be held Monday, March 8,at 2 p.m. at the Good Hope Baptist Church with Reverend Stacy Hensley and Reverend Franky Ridley officiating. He will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, March 7 from 4-9 p.m. and Monday, March 8 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
