One person was killed in a single-vehicle wreck on Old Dayton Pike early Sunday morning.
The victim has been identified as Menisha Vinson, 31, of Barbee Road in Soddy Daisy.
According to investigators, the occupants of the vehicle had been in a fight at Rob’s on Dayton Boulevard. They all left the scene in the 2004 Chevy Tahoe at a high rate of speed.
From the evidence on the scene of the crash, it appeared that the driver did not attempt to break and failed to negotiate a curve, leaving the road and landing in the creek bed below. None of the occupants were wearing seat belts, and the victim was partially ejected.
No charges have been filed at this time. Alcohol and speed were both factors in the crash. The crash is still under investigation.
The incident happened at approximately 3:15 a.m. at 6135 Old Dayton Pike.
Four people were able to get out of the vehicle. The victim was trapped and was pronounced dead at the scene.
