Gene A. Prock, 75, of Cleveland, died on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at his residence.
He was a member of Four Point Baptist Church. Mr. Prock retired from Bowater Corporation after 23 years as drum operator. He was a ham operator and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John B. Prock and Beulah E. Nichols Prock; and brother, Jimmy Prock.
Survivors include his wife, Ella Prock of Cleveland; son, Johnny Lee Prock of Cleveland; daughters, Kathy Gamble, Rodna Blankenship, Sherry Acker and Karen Prock all of Cleveland; six grandchildren, Scotty Payne, Michael Blankenship, Amber Daspain, Ashley Nichole Acker, Kelly Ooten and Justin Smith; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend Marshall Roberson officiating. Interment will follow in New Friendship Cemetery. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday, March 8 at the funeral home.
