Jewish Federation Of Greater Chattanooga Has New Name

Monday, March 08, 2010

The organization formerly called the Jewish Community Federation of Greater Chattanooga will now be known as the Jewish Federation of Greater Chattanooga, as of March 1. The name change and re-designed logo for this local nonprofit organization is part of a re-branding effort by its parent organization, now known as Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA).
The Jewish Federation of Greater Chattanooga launched its new name and logo, along with a redesigned website (www.jewishchattanooga.com) at its Annual Meeting on Feb. 28.

“I am so glad that JFNA made this change,” said Chattanooga Executive Director Michael Dzik. “By incorporating ‘Federation’ into its name, JFNA makes clear its connection to the 157 Federations in the U.S. and Canada, which are under its umbrella.”

The Jewish Federation of Greater Chattanooga was established in 1931. This year, the organization was a finalist for both the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce Nonprofit of the Year award and the Be More Creative award presented by WTCI.

Thoughts On The Mathews Sentencing

It is not by coincidence I haven’t submitted an opinion piece in some time to the Chattanoogan.  The topics I cover are generally vitriolic in regards to local political decisions and their makers regarding public safety and I do not wish to associate my name with more noble subjects such as that of the heroic death and cowardly murder of Chattanooga Police Sergeant Tim Chapin, ... A Good School Takes Involvement - And Response

As I have read the articles concerning Normal Park School I can’t keep from thinking when our children started to school in the 1960‘s. The two elementary schools in the city that were considered tops were Barger and Woodmore. We did not live in the zone for either school so we looked for a house to buy that was zoned for Woodmore.   We found ... (click for more)
