Police Blotter: Motorist Carjacked At Main And Central

A motorist reported being carjacked by a couple while stopping at a traffic light at Central Avenue and Main Street.

The motorist was driving home after work when a black male ran up to the car and demanded the keys. The man was accompanied by a black female.

The driver got out of the vehicle and the couple got in. They drove off going east on Main Street.

The carjacker was described as about 5'9" with braided hair. He was wearing a blue jacket and dark jeans. The female was wearing all black and had a hood over her head.

A man who was badly beaten could not provide police with much information about what happened.

Jeff Davis said it was on Lupton Drive. He said he went there with someone he did not know.

He said he does not know who attacked him.

He was taken to the Memorial Hospital emergency room with an injury to his head, scratches on his face and bruises on his shoulders.

After tests showed a pool of blood near his brain, he was sent to Erlanger Hospital for possible surgery.

Officers found a man down on his hands and knees in the middle of the intersection of Portland Street and N. Willow.

Ronald Harris said he had been attacked by two pit bulls.

He said they came from 2101 Portland.

He was taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment of puncture wounds as well as injuries to his hands, arms and ankles. His knees had abrasions nearly to the bone.

While police were present, dog owner Harold Jackson Jr. came outside.

The dogs were taken to the McKamey Animal Center and Jackson was cited by McKamey officers.

There were multiple calls about two black males fighting at 4900 Brainerd Road.

Officers could not locate such a fight, but Nolan Ryan, white male, showed up at Erlanger East with injuries he said he incurred at 4900 Brainerd Road.

He said he dropped a cigarette in between the seats of his car and he pulled over to find it. He said when he did he was attacked by one or two black males.

Amber Kendricks, who was with him in the car, said she saw one black male.

Neither one could give a further description of the attackers.

A man reported that someone broke into his car while it was parked away from other vehicles at the KMart on Highway 58.

Items taken include his wife's purse and their digital camera.

KMart employees reported seeing a green BMW with two young white males inside park near the man's car.

Heidi Dubre said she was playing at Coolidge Park and her wallet was just five feet away when someone snatched it.

The thief also took items from her friend's purse.

Robert Underwood said he had a date with his girlfriend and they returned to her place.

He said he found that all four tires on his 1996 Dodge pickup truck were slashed.

They both suspect the ex-husband of the girlfriend.

Christian Montgomery, who works in the meat department of Greenlife Grocery, wrapped a large amount of meat for a customer.

He thought the customer looked suspicious so he followed him to the next aisle. He saw the man put the meat down his pants, then run for the door.

Two female employees saw the man run out as well. They said he is Roddy Nixon who they said had stolen from the store before.

They were shown Nixon's driver's license photo and they made a positive identification.

Store officials planned to press charges after reviewing the store video.

I would like to thank Judge Mattice for handing down a 30.5 year sentence for Kathleen Mathews.  Obviously, no amount of jail time, fines, or lashings can bring back Tim Chapin.   A 30-year sentence will, however, make the world just a little safer.  That's what Sgt.
