The Chattanooga-Hamilton County Medical Society, Medical Foundation of Chattanooga, and University of Tennessee College of Medicine will host the sixth annual Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine: Kids into Health Careers, from June 7-10. Nominations for the Fourth Annual Youth Leadership Forum are due April 16. Rising high school juniors and seniors interested in the medical field are encouraged to apply.
The program is designed to: provide rising high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to learn more about life as a physician and inspire them to consider a career in medicine; educate students about options available to assist with the cost of medical education; provide students and local physicians with a community-based mentoring/teaching experience; and assist with efforts to increase the pipeline of health care providers in Southeastern Tennessee.
This four-day program is designed to encourage rising juniors and seniors to consider careers in medicine. During the course of the week, students will spend time shadowing a variety of physicians and enjoy daily lectures and round table discussions with physicians.
Program participants can be nominated by teachers, counselors, doctors, or youth organizations. Nomination forms are available by contacting Kevin Lusk at the Medical Society, 622-2872.
