A truck driver died of an apparent heart attack at 4500 Access Road in Hixson on Tuesday morning. Wallace M. Curtis, 54, was carrying 40,000 pounds of yarn in his trailer when he died, causing the crash.
The tractor trailer crashed through a fence at the McKamey Animal Trust. However, no one on the McKamey property was hurt.
He was dead when McKamey workers went to check on him.
The driver had just made a delivery near the animal center.
