Residents of the Highland Park neighborhood participated in the national Great American Cleanup on Saturday. Almost three dozen residents and city officials, including Councilman Peter Murphy (District 9) and Councilman Andrae McGary (District 8), began working at 10 a.m. on Saturday, cleaning the 96 city blocks that make up Highland Park.
Residents ended the day with a cookout in Tatum Park, and were joined by members the Chattanooga Police Department's FOX Team, who regularly patrol the neighborhood.
The Scenic Cities Beautiful Commission provided cleaning supplies and Hair of the Dog provided food for the post-cleanup cookout.
The event was coordinated by resident Connie Zuback.
