Chattanooga Coffee Company To Hold Ribbon Cutting May 5

Thursday, April 22, 2010

The Chattanooga Coffee Company has opened the Coffee Roasting Studio and Espresso Bar at 2627 Broad Street. A ribbon cutting, coordinated by the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce, will be held for the new business on May 5 at 10:30 a.m.

Chattanooga Coffee Company is owned by Evelyn Wheeler and Eileen Mason, who founded the Chattanooga Coffee Company and Chattz, a Market Street coffee shop, in 2002. The enterprise received the Chamber’s Small Business of the Year Award in 2008.

The new enterprise will feature fresh-roasted coffee beans, roasted daily for many local restaurants, businesses and stores, as well as for Chattz and the new Espresso Bar. The new bar will serve espresso and coffee drinks, along with locally made pastries.

Wheeler and Mason were partners in The Israel Tour Company for six years, offering customized tours to Israel, Jordan and the Mediterranean region. After 9/11 the tour business slowed and they turned their attention to another dream – offering the European experience of artisan-roasted coffee and the European coffeehouse to Chattanooga.

In 2002 they began roasting specialty coffee under the tutelage of an Oregon roaster.

The Coffee Roasting Studio and Espresso Bar will be open Monday through Friday from 7-11 a.m. For more information call 423 266-2323.

Meo Mio’s Cajun & Seafood Restaurant Is A Hit

We’ve found a new place that we really like!  Meo Mio’s Cajun & Seafood Restaurant at 4119 Cummings Highway (the old Patrick’s location).   We were greeted at the door as if we were arriving for a party.  The friendly hostess was distributing Mardi Gras beads to all the “party guests” (customers).  Décor is very cheerful and eye catching.  On one ... Signs Vandalized At Cummings Cove As Battle With OHV Owners Continues

Two large advertising signs at the Cummings Cove development in Lookout Valley were vandalized Friday. One sign was spray painted with an expletive and another had the word "Aetna" in large letters.  There has been a long-running dispute between owners of Cummings Cove and those who enjoy going up the old Aetna Mountain Road to ride off-highway vehicles. Cummings ... (click for more)

We Are Blessed To Have Ron Littlefield As Our Mayor - And Response

Chattanooga is blessed beyond measure to have Ron Littlefield as our mayor.  It is a total travesty our city has had to endure the long frivolous battle with absolutely  no foundation other than disagreement with policy issues.  It has always been a vendetta directed personally at Mayor Littlefield which, if the "interveners" decide to appeal, will be a proven fact.   ... Roy Exum: The Westminster Dogs Bark!

The brightly-lit tower on top of New York City’s Empire State Building is now purple and gold, the traditional colors of the much-beloved 136th Annual Westminster Dog Show that is currently being staged at Madison Square Garden. For a dog lover like me, the televised finals are always a fun-filled delight as the USA and CNBC networks show the spectacular animals on Monday and Tuesday ... (click for more)
