A 40-year-old man was shot multiple times during an early morning robbery attempt in East Chattanooga on Monday.
The incident happened near a Glass Street bar.
Alan Eady called police a few minutes after midnight stating that he had been shot in the leg and hand after two young black males tried to rob him at 2407 Glass St.
Erica Lewis, 36, was with Mr. Eady at the time of the robbery but was not injured.
According to the pair, they were walking to Mr. Lewis’s car when they were approached by one of the suspects who demanded money. During the robbery, the gunman shot Mr. Eady, but Ms. Lewis was able to escape gunfire by getting to her car.
The suspects were described as two dark-skinned black males - one with a short afro and the other with long dreads. They were armed with a semi-automatic pistol.
Mr. Eady was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated and released. The investigation will continue.
