The Young Women’s Leadership Academy Foundation (YWLAF), the sponsor of Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy, has appointed veteran fundraiser and grant writer, Meredith Perry, as the Foundation’s Development Officer.
As YWLAF’s Development Officer, Ms. Perry will be responsible for working with the Foundation’s Board of Directors to secure grants and gifts from foundations, corporations and private donors for the Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy, Tennessee’s first all girls public charter school.
“Meredith is a seasoned professional who has an excellent track record of raising significant funds,” said Maxine Bailey, Executive Director of the Young Women’s Leadership Academy. “In fact, Meredith has been part of the team since day one. She served on the Foundation’s Planning & Design Team for the development of CGLA and helped prepare the charter school application. Her experience and dedication to the school makes her the ideal choice for YWLAF.”
Prior to joining YWALF, Ms. Perry served in the Office of Grants and Research at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for more than twelve years. During her tenure, she was instrumental in securing more than $25 million in grant funding for the university.
A Chattanooga native and Brock scholar, Ms. Perry earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Anthropology and a Master of Arts in Rhetoric from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
