Chattanooga United 95 Girls Take State Championship

The Chattanooga United FC 95 RED u-15 Girls team participated in the 2010 Division 2 Tennessee State Cup last weekend in Hendersonville, Tennessee and claimed the claimed the state title with a championship win.

qualified as the #2 seed from the East Division in the Division 2 League, with a 3-1-1 record.

Their first match placed them against the TNFC Blitz (#1 Seed from West Division) from Franklin, Tennessee, with CUFC pulling off a 4-3 win with a goal in the final 10 seconds of the game. In the second game they claimed a 3-0 win over 95 Lady Lobos.

The CUFC 95 Red faced the Unida Jaguars from Collierville, Tennessee, in the championship, and claimed the Divison 2 u-15 Girls State Title with a 2-0 win. They are now eligible to represent Tennessee in the upcoming Region 3 Division 2 President's Cup Tournament being held in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, June 10-13, 2010.

This is the first girl's state title for the newly formed Chattanooga United Futbol Club program. The CUFC 95 Red team is coached by Phil Drummond.

Lady Mocs Softball Falls To North Carolina

Mocs Battle To 4-3 Win Over Belmont

The UTC men's tennis team posted a hard-fought 4-3 win over Belmont at the Hixson Racquet Club on Friday night. The Mocs came from behind after losing the opening doubles point for the second straight match. It was a tight battle in all three doubles contests. Signs Vandalized At Cummings Cove As Battle With OHV Owners Continues

Two large advertising signs at the Cummings Cove development in Lookout Valley were vandalized Friday. One sign was spray painted with an expletive and another had the word "Aetna" in large letters.  There has been a long-running dispute between owners of Cummings Cove and those who enjoy going up the old Aetna Mountain Road to ride off-highway vehicles.
