KidsPark Chattanooga Childcare Center Opens On Gunbarrel Road

Thursday, June 17, 2010

KidsPark, the first licensed, hourly drop-in childcare center in Chattanooga, is now open for business. The KidsPark Center, located at 2020 Gunbarrel Road near Babies R Us, is new to Chattanooga, but has been in business for 22 years.

At KidsPark, children enjoy a warm and nurturing environment where they can play, learn and make new friends, and parents have peace of mind knowing their children are in a safe and fun place.

KidsPark is open seven days a week, with evening and weekend hours (open until midnight Friday and Saturday nights).

Debbie Milner developed the KidsPark concept in 1988 in Silicon Valley. Milner created KidsPark out of her personal need to find high quality, fun, short-term care for her daughter. There are now 13 locations across the country.

KidsPark is designed for preschool and school age children, age two through 11. In addition to hourly childcare, KidsPark offers a morning preschool program that focuses on preparing children for entry into Kindergarten, with a flexible schedule that meets the needs of both the parent and the child.

“KidsPark is available without making a reservation or calling ahead — parents just bring their children to KidsPark when they need us,” said Ms. Milner, CEO of KidsPark.

KidsPark offers back-up care when school is out of session for holidays and the summer months.

Shelley Ealy, KidsPark Chattanooga owner, and mother of three young boys, recognized the need for a safe, convenient, cost-effective and fun alternative childcare option when parents need it.

“I know firsthand what it’s like to need help when neighborhood babysitters or family members are not available,” said Ms. Ealy. “It may be a doctor’s appointment, running errands or even just going to a movie with my husband. When I found no alternative childcare options in Chattanooga, I searched and researched until I found KidsPark. I’m excited and proud to open the first KidsPark in Tennessee, and to be the only licensed, hourly drop-in childcare center in Chattanooga.”
