Chattanooga Fire fighters responded to a house fire at 7501 Pinewood Drive around 8 p.m. on Saturday.
Battalion Chief Mike Knox stated firefighters arrived on the scene to find fire coming from a window on the front of the house. Firefighters were advised upon their arrival that all residents were out of the house, and they began an aggressive offensive fire attack.
The fire was quickly brought under control and a fire investigator was called to the scene to find the cause of the fire. After questioning the residents, Fire Investigator Lt. Anthony Moore determined that the fire was started by a four-year-old child playing with a lighter in the bedroom.
One resident was treated for minor burns at the scene by Hamilton County EMS. The Chattanooga Police Department, American Red Cross and Electric Power Board were among other agencies who assisted with this incident.
Damage to the property is estimated at $45,000.
