Chattanooga firefighters put out a fire at 3009 Roanoke Ave. around 7 a.m. on Sunday. Captain Carlos Hampton reported heavy smoke in the area of the reported fire.
Firefighters found fire coming from the rear of the structure upon their arrival. Firefighters entered the rear of the structure and quickly brought the fire under control.
Fire Investigator Lt. Henry McElvain responded to the scene and determined the probable cause of the fire was accidental. The Chattanooga Police Department, Hamilton County EMS and the American Red Cross assisted with this incident. Damage to the property is estimated at $60,000.
