Giving Blood Is Grossly Underrated

Tuesday, July 20, 2010

Many people may think of blood as gross, but it is also a lifesaving gift. On July 27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Blood Assurance’s Blood Mobile will be on Creative Discovery Museum’s Plaza hosting a special blood drive and encouraging people to give. In addition to Blood Assurance’s prizes, the museum will offer incentives for adults who wish to donate blood.

Every person who donates blood will receive a coupon for one free general admission to the museum good through Sept. 6. Names of all participants will be put into a drawing for a free one-year membership ($85 value) to the museum.

Blood donors who receive the coupon will get to visit the Museum in time to explore the Grossology exhibit. This summer, Grossology has provided the Museum an opportunity to give guests even more unexpected “gross” experiences while learning about the human body.

Grossology Exhibiting produced by Advanced Animations LLC, in collaboration with Science World British Columbia. GROSSOLOGY is a registered trademark of Penguin Group (USA).

Grossology is sponsored locally by Little Debbie Snacks.

Thank You, Judge Mattice And Chattanooga

I would like to thank Judge Mattice for handing down a 30.5 year sentence for Kathleen Mathews.  Obviously, no amount of jail time, fines, or lashings can bring back Tim Chapin.   A 30-year sentence will, however, make the world just a little safer.  That's what Sgt. Chapin would have wanted.  He was a protector and sacrificed his life so the rest of ... (click for more)

There are two big nerves that sprout out of the ... (click for more)
