A Soddy Daisy businessman who said he found out his new location on Burchard Road is not zoned for business said he will move half his employees out in 90 days and all in six months.
Dan Knoch initially asked for a rezoning, but he told the County Commission on Wednesday that he was withdrawing the request.
He said he had made a mistake in setting up the business in a house he bought from his brother at the remote location.
Neighbors who showed up to protest the zoning change agreed to go along with the request for time to find a place to relocate.
The neighbors said some employees of the scanner business had been driving too fast on the narrow, winding road and littering the roadway.
Mr. Knoch said he has 12 employees, but no walk-in traffic. He said he plans to add several more workers within the next six months after picking up new university customers.
