Jane Rickards "Rickie" Hopkins, 70, of Mentone, Ala., died on Monday, July 26, 2010 at her residence.

Miss Hopkins was born Sept. 24, 1939 in Tallahassee, Fla., the daughter of the late Arvah Branch Hopkins, Sr. and Rebecca Louise Rickards Hopkins. Miss Hopkins was a graduate of Florida State University and a member of Delta Delta Delta. She was a realtor and broker in Florida. She owned and operated Double "D" Stables in Tallahassee, Fla. for many years.

Survivors include her sister, Randal Hopkins Wright, Fredericksburg, Va.; and brother, Arvah Branch "Mike" Hopkins, St. Teresa, Fla.

Miss Hopkins will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Rosie Lee Powell, age 92, of Honolulu, Hawaii and formerly of Ringgold, Georgia, passed away in Hawaii.  Family and friends will gather for a graveside service to be held on Saturday, May 19, at 1 p.m. at Ringgold Community Cemetery. 2 People Injured In Motorcycle Accident On Highway 58

Two people were injured in a motorcycle accident on Highway 58 on Saturday. The two were thrown from the motorcycle when they collided with a Jeep that had stopped unexpectedly. One person was taken to the hospital in an ambulance, and the other by helicopter. Their injuries are thought to be non-life threatening at this time. (click for more)
