The HOPE Scholarship is now available to students wishing to attend Tennessee Temple University, officials said.
Starting fall 2010, eligible incoming freshmen with a minimum of a 21 ACT (980 SAT) or overall weighted minimum 3.0 grade point average can take advantage of the state-funded scholarship program designed to encourage students to go to college.
Officials said, "With a combination of Pell grants, the university’s free room program and now the availability of the HOPE Scholarship, freshmen can virtually attend Tennessee Temple at little to no cost."
Tennessee Temple President Dr. Danny Lovett said, “God’s favor is upon us. The state legislature made the necessary provisions in the law for our university to receive the HOPE funds and we are grateful for their assistance.
"Tennessee Temple University is the only private accredited Christian university in Chattanooga and we offer the lowest tuition cost for a variety of academic degree programs - from your bachelor’s to your doctorate degree, online or on campus. It does not get any better than that.
"Temple is a happening place; we are a local school with a global impact. We have been graduating scholars from Temple for almost 65 years and we’re not done yet. We have a rich heritage and an even brighter future.”
Tennessee Temple University is accredited by the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools, which is recognized by the United States Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, it was stated.
