One registered nurse from the Orthopaedic Department at Erlanger’s Baroness Campus and three registered nurses from T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital at Erlanger recently received national certifications.
Nancy Holland, RN, has 19 years of experience working at Erlanger. She earned the National Association of Orthopedic Nurses certification by working as a registered nurse at least two years, performing 1,000 hours of hands-on experience in orthopaedics and passing a comprehensive test.
NAON membership consists of more than 6,000 RNs, LPNs, LVNs, student nurses, and associate members from across the country and around the world who share an interest in musculoskeletal healthcare.
Three Children’s Hospital emergency department nurses have also received certification.
Susan Bukovsky, RN, has 33 years of experience as a registered nurse and has worked at Erlanger for 12 years. Megan Kornas, RN, has worked for Erlanger for three years and Cortney Abney, RN, has nine years of experience working at Erlanger.
They earned the Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse certification by holding a current unrestricted license to practice as a register nurse in the United States and having practiced at least 1,000 hours in pediatric emergency department as a registered nurse in the past 24 months and passing a comprehensive test.
Pediatric Nursing Certification Board remains the largest independent pediatric nursing certification organization in the country with over 24,000 nursing professionals.
