Police Blotter: Cut-Up Intruder Caught Inside Rite Aid

An intruder who was riddled with cuts was caught inside the Rite Aid on Highway 153.

Police said a burglar alarm alerted them to the store and they found that the drive through window had been destroyed.

They found Fielding Oligschlaeger hiding in a cabinet. He had pills in his pockets.

He also had cuts on his hands, arms and legs apparently obtained while climbing through the broken window.

He was charged with burglary, theft and vandalism.

At 1131 Stringer's Ridge Road, someone heavily damaged the designer furniture in the lobby as well as nine elevator panels.

Police said a video showed a white male doing the damage in the lobby, then heading for the elevators.

He carved on paneling in the elevators, "I want to live with my mom."

Police said it is believed that the perpetrator is the son of a resident of the complex.

Owners said the lobby furniture is so badly slashed with some type of sharp object that it will have to be replaced.

Giovanna Schiff reported a vehicle break-in during services at St. Jude Church on Ashland Terrace.

A window was knocked out of her 2006 Dodge Caravan. Her daughter's purse, containing a cellphone and IPod, were taken. The purse was later located at Coolidge Park.

A parishioner who arrived 10 minutes late said he saw two black males sitting in a late-model white Dodge Charger in a parking spot.

Cassandra Kelley, of N. St. Marks, said she returned home to find a bullet hole in her Chevrolet HHR.

Police said it struck a rear fender.

Ms. Kelley said she has found bullet holes in her property previously.

A man named Nick told an officer on Central Avenue that he needed to be taken to a restroom for a bowel movement.

The officer declined, saying police did not furnish such rides. The policeman suggested that Nick call a cab.

Police had to referee a dispute at a store on Grove Street.

Sheba Joy Garrett was allegedly causing a disturbance.

The manager said she returned a bag of Air Heads and wanted her money back. But she had eaten over half the Air Heads.

Letina Raymer said she went over to the residence of a male friend. She said the next morning they argued and he hit her in the face, then choked her.

She said she does not know his real name, but he is called "The Animal."

A Pennsylvania couple stopped Friday for speeding on I-75 was held in the Bradley County jail charged with 60 counts of identity theft.   A detective for the Bradley County Sheriff’s office on Friday stopped the vehicle after radar showed it to be in excess of the 70 mph limit.
