Our state and community suffered a national embarrassment from the Tennessee Waltz arrests and prosecution of leading elected officials. The Tennessee Waltz crimes have our beloved state listed among the top 5 in the nation for public corruption.
It simply kills the human spirit to witness corruption emerging from some down time to achieve career revival, and seeing a key member of the Tennessee Waltz working politics.
Is it not enough that former Senator Crutchfield did not serve one day in prison? Good grief, a speeding ticket has more consequences.
As citizens we handed the greatest trust that exists to former Senator Crutchfield, public trust, and the authority to act on our behalf. This trust was completely betrayed in legislation for sale. Tolerance for complete betrayal of public trust should not be available as an option to restore rights, unless of course we believe that selling legislation is business as usual.
Burn us twice, shame on us.
