A Sale Creek man who suffered a severe head injury when he was struck by a vehicle on Sunday while on his riding lawn mower has died.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Williamson and Sons Funeral Home, Soddy Daisy, for John Patrick Weaver, 41.
A Navy veteran, he was employed by Precision Machine.
Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services was dispatched to 118 Reavley Road on an accident involving a lawn mower. After the unit's arrival it was found that the incident involved a motor vehicle and a lawn mower.
The investigation found that Mr. Weaver was mowing the lawn, and as he turned the mower around in the roadway, 72-year-old Frankie Trantham struck the mower as she was traveling eastbound on Reavley Road in a Chevrolet Trailblazer.
Deputies said the location where the incident occurred is a blind hill at the railroad tracks and Ms. Trantham did not see the mower or Mr. Weaver until contact was made.
Mr. Weaver was transported to Erlanger Hospital with severe head trauma.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing and is being handled by Deputy Robert Stockburger.
