School Board Candidate Forums Set For Districts 3, 8

A District 8 school board candidate forum will be held on Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the East Ridge City Hall in the Chamber Room.

And a District 3 school board candidate forum will be held Thursday , July 15, at 7 p.m. at Hixson United Methodist Church, 5301 Old Hixson Pike.

The District 8 event is sponsored by the East Ridge Education Committee.

The District 8 candidates are Dean Arnold, Andrew Mullins and David Testerman.

The facilitator will be Debbie Colburn, a former school board member.

Everyone is welcome.

Candidates for District 3 are Everett Fairchild, Ken Smith and Marty Haynes.

Women's Center And Action Council Have Benefit Show

The University of Tennessee, Chattanooga Women’s Center and Women’s Action Council is sponsoring a benefit production of Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues , raising funds for The Partnership. Chattanooga State Dental Hygiene Department Announces National Awards

A Chattanooga State Community College dental hygiene student and a faculty member have received national recognition for their achievements. Brittany McCartney is the recipient of the Hinman Scholarship Award. Michelle Mould, assistant professor of dental hygiene, is this year’s recipient off the Olav Alvares Award for “Outstanding Articles published in the Journal of Dental Education.” ... $750,000 Settlement Reached In Case In Which Bicyclist Was Hit By Tahoe

A $750,000 settlement has been reached in Hamilton County Circuit Court in a case in which a bicyclist was struck by a Chevrolet Tahoe and seriously injured. Sean Sanderson and his wife, Dr. Stephanie Sanderson, of Cleveland, Tn.,had filed suit against Benjamin Wilson and Oscar Wilson.
