Shackelford Family Reunion July 8 - 11

The 27th annual Shackelford family reunion will be held in Chattanooga,July 8th-11th 2010.

Guests will be traveling in from Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Tennessee, Texas, other states and Jamaica.

The theme is "Many Branches One Tree.”

Schedule is as follows:

Thursday – Branching out with a warm welcome to the Scenic City of the South

Residence Inn Conference and Convention Center – Hamilton Place


Friday 6:00 p.m. – Branching out onto the Water

Cruise down the Tennessee River on the Southern Belle, dinner, fun and fellowship


Saturday 9:00 a.m. – Branching out in the Sun

Lake Winnepesaukah Amusement Park


Saturday Evening 6:00 p.m. – Branching out on the Red Carpet

Catoosa County Historic Driving Tour Developed

Meeting Set On Hixson Treasures From The Past Exhibit

A meeting has been set for Feb. 11 to discuss a "Hixson Treasures from the Past" exhibit. It will be at the North River Civic Center, 1009 Executive Dr., on Saturday at 10 a.m. Persons interested in helping with the exhibit are asked to attend. Man Tells Police He Just Murdered His Wife

An Chattanooga man told police Monday night that he had just murdered his wife.  Police said Robert Lee Hardnett, 50. showed up at the County Jail to turn himself in at 8:40 p.m. He said his wife's body could be found at his place of employment, Power Supply Company, 1907 Daisy St.   Officers responded to that address and found the body of 34-year-old Elizabeth ... Red Bank Commissioners Choose Kenneth Welch To Replace Greg Jones; Jeno Won't Run Again

The four remaining members of the Red Bank Commission held a special called meeting on Tuesday and chose Kenneth Welch as the replacement for Vice Mayor Greg Jones, who moved to Alaska. Thank You, Judge Mattice And Chattanooga

I would like to thank Judge Mattice for handing down a 30.5 year sentence for Kathleen Mathews.  Obviously, no amount of jail time, fines, or lashings can bring back Tim Chapin.   A 30-year sentence will, however, make the world just a little safer.  That's what Sgt.
