Tuesday, August 10, 2010

Moss Place II, Inc. will celebrate its tenth anniversary with a ribbon cutting on Aug. 12, at 1 p.m. and an open house from 12-2 p.m. on Aug. 14.

The Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce, which honored Moss Place with a Small Business Award in 2003, will coordinate the ribbon cutting.

The Moss Place restaurant and catering business is located at the corner of Shallowford Road and Tunnel Boulevard.

The business encompasses 7,750 square feet of commercial space, with recently added off-street paved parking.

Moss Place has invested over $500,000 in business equipment and facility renovations during the past ten years. The operation has undergone three expansions and employed 28 people over the course of its decade in business.

“We serve up some of the best food in Chattanooga,” said owner Darnell Moss. “The catering and restaurant offer barbecue, downhome cooking and gourmet dishes.”

Since it opened, the business has grown to servicing over 30 weekly catering events, both large and small. The Moss Place restaurant is also a popular eatery for sit-down dining or quick-service take-out.

Mr. Moss is involved in community service, providing food donations to local agencies, ranging from churches to schools to fundraising events. Moss has over 30 years of experience in culinary training, restaurant management, catering and employee management.

Thank You, Judge Mattice And Chattanooga

I would like to thank Judge Mattice for handing down a 30.5 year sentence for Kathleen Mathews.  Obviously, no amount of jail time, fines, or lashings can bring back Tim Chapin.   A 30-year sentence will, however, make the world just a little safer.  That's what Sgt. Chapin would have wanted.  He was a protector and sacrificed his life so the rest of ... (click for more)
