A court judgment of almost $3 million has been entered against Randy Baker, developer of Tauqueta Falls on Lookout Mountain, in a lawsuit brought by builder John Wise. Both Mr. Baker and Mr. Wise are from Chattanooga.
Tauqueta Falls was planned as a development of almost 500 homes on 400 acres near the Dade County and Walker County line. The Canyon Ridge Golf Course opened in 2004, but few homes have been completed.
Mr. Wise filed suit in September 2007, saying he was owed millions of dollars for homes he constructed at the development that had not sold.
The suit also asked $10 million in punitive damages.
Chancellor Frank Brown had entered a default judgment against the defendants last month.
Then, on Aug. 6, the two sides said they had reached a settlement.
It gives a judgment to Mr. Wise of $2,973,755.
If Mr. Baker is forced into bankruptcy, the judgment is to be modified to $5 million.
