Tim Gobble: Three Reasons To Vote For Me

Monday, August 02, 2010

I've built a campaign not from polling information or the advice of out-of-town paid consultants, but how a candidate should run for office: with countless conversations and long days on the campaign trail spent with the people of East Tennessee. I've heard people come to one conclusion. We need someone with the right kind of experience in Washington. With three days left before election day I offer three primary reasons why the people of the Third District should consider casting their vote for me.

1. We need jobs. I've worked as part of a team as a member of the Cleveland City Council to help bring hundreds of private sector jobs and the necessary infrastructure to support them to the Tennessee Valley. I opposed tax increases, defeated a storm water fee, and held the line on needless regulations. As sheriff, I've protected our streets to make our communities safe for business and commerce. As your representative in Congress, I'll work for job growth in Tennessee.

2. We need fiscal responsibility in Washington. As Bradley County Sheriff, I've kept a balanced budget and even cut the budget for next year. Because of good and innovative management I've been able to save Bradley County taxpayers about $22 million over the course of my four year term. We did all of this while reducing crime in Bradley County 16% over the last two years alone, and all without a tax increase. We need people in Congress who know what it means to be accountable to the taxpayers, and I have the experience to serve you effectively from day one.

3. We need to protect our country. Over the course of my fifteen years with the U.S. Secret Service, I protected the top two terrorist targets in the world, the president and the vice president, the integrity of our nation's financial system, and held top-secret national security clearance as we worked with agencies all over the world to protect America and American interests. The terror threat is real, and I understand it well. Since I've been sheriff, I've deported 248 criminal illegal aliens. Illegal immigration poses a threat to our economic security and our national security, and as your representative in Congress, I'll continue to protect you.

Over these last days on the campaign trail, one thing has been made very clear. People are tired of divisive politics as usual in Washington. We need to send public servants with a proven record of accomplishment to Congress. I ask for the privilege of serving you in Congress, I look forward to meeting as many more of you as possible in the next three days, and I ask for your vote in the Republican Primary this Thursday.

Keep Commissioner McClure

As a resident of Hamilton County, I am very proud of our community. This is the first time I have felt compelled to voice my opinion on the District 3 Commission election. I have known Mitch McClure for 10 years. In the prior years before becoming commissioner, I personally witnessed his selfless efforts to better this community. In his time as commissioner he has only added ... (click for more)

Play The Emission Game - And Response

I signed the petition but have a suggestion that may make a bigger impact.  Since it is a cash only business, pay with change and request they count it to keep you both honest. This gives a taste of your frustration and could imply that we as citizens want change also.  This could be very effective when they are busy. There are many ways to send a message but the ...
