Led by All-Americans and national champions, the Lookout Mountain Sports Hall of Fame will honor the 10-member class of 2010 at induction ceremonies on Sunday, Sept. 26 in the Harry Robinson Gym at Fairyland School at 3 p.m.
Tennessee at Chattanooga's first individual national champion, George Dickinson (tennis, 1966), along with National Football League alums Chip Healy and Bill Chipley join Cindy Kemp Battle (tennis), Betsy Caulkins Bookout (swimming), Roy Exum (media), Harry "Wig" Robinson (football), Paul Tessmann (wrestling), Frank Willett (tennis) and Mark Williamson (swimming) as the class of 2010, which is Lookout Mountain's third induction class.
Chipley and Willett will be inducted posthumously.
The honorees were selected by a vote of the Lookout Mountain Memorial
Community Center Board.
"This induction class is an outstanding group of Lookout Mountain citizens who have competed at a high level and made significant contributions for the benefit of others involved in sports," said Rick Dockery, chairman of the hall of fame board.
"We know that the continuation of the hall of fame is a meaningful and positive reflection upon our community."
