Thamon Lamar Moten, 79, of Chickamauga, Ga., died on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010.

He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and retired from Mueller Company.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mrs. Mary Lee Smith Moten; one son, Mr. Phillip Smith; daughter, Ms. Phyllis Smith; parents, Mr. James and Mrs. Bessie Elna Moten; three sisters, Mrs. Eva Brown, Mrs. Mattie Smith and Mrs. Lucy Mae Moore; and one brother, Mr. James Moten.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Minnie Porter Moten; four sons, Misters Gregory (Lana Marie) Moten, Vernon Moten, Darryl Moten of Chickamauga and Ricky Moten of LaFayette; two sisters, Mrs. Nola Clements and Mrs. Margaret Foster of Chickamauga; two brothers, Mr. Paul Moten and Mr. Oliver (JoAnn) Moten; step-children, Mrs. Frankie (Chris) Sims of Chattanooga, Mrs. Teresa (Walter) McLin of Chickamauga and Mr. John T. Winston of Rome, Ga.; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Homegoing Service will be Tuesday, Aug. 31, at noon at Friendship Baptist Church in Chickamauga with Pastor Hugh Byrd officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church on Monday, Aug. 30 from 7-8 p.m.

Sherline Muse Parker, 58, of Calhoun, Ga., died Saturday, February 11, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Man Tells Police He Just Murdered His Wife

Red Bank Commissioners Choose Kenneth Welch To Replace Greg Jones; Jeno Won't Run Again
