Hot Club Of Cowtown Plays At Nightfall Friday

Tuesday, August 03, 2010

The Nightfall Concert Series will continue its schedule of musical programming Friday with a headline show by Hot Club of Cowtown. The opening act is Gerle Haggard. These free shows are held each Friday on the BlueCross Stage at Miller Plaza, through Sept. 24.

Review for Hot Club of Cowtown:
This Austin-based western swing/jazz trio of violin, guitar and upright bass, will bring even the tamest audience to its feet. Plus, instrument aficionados will drool over the 1925 Gibson acoustic, 1937 Gibson amp and all the other classic gear that helps to keep Cowtown hot and hoppin'.

Presented by the River City Company, and produced by Chattanooga Presents, Nightfall continues to bring an eclectic mix of rock, blues, jazz, world music, funk, bluegrass and folk music to Downtown Chattanooga.

Nightfall features Chattanooga musicians for each opening act, beginning at 7 p.m., followed by performances by national and international talent beginning at 8 p.m. Beer, wine, food and non-alcoholic drink concessions are available on site. No outside food or beverages are allowed.

Corporate sponsors for this year’s series are Fletcher Bright Company, Kelly Auto Group, Bud Light, BlueCross BlueShield, Warehouse Row, Chattanooga Coca-Cola Bottling Co, Walden Security, Chattanooga Choo Choo, The Pulse, Fox 61 and NPR/Music 88.

Thank You, Judge Mattice And Chattanooga

I would like to thank Judge Mattice for handing down a 30.5 year sentence for Kathleen Mathews.  Obviously, no amount of jail time, fines, or lashings can bring back Tim Chapin.   A 30-year sentence will, however, make the world just a little safer.  That's what Sgt. Chapin would have wanted.  He was a protector and sacrificed his life so the rest of ... (click for more)
