Vehicle Testing To Resume Sept. 7 Following Labor Day Holiday

Monday, August 30, 2010

All auto emissions testing centers in Hamilton County will be closed on Saturday and Monday, in observance of Labor Day. All stations will resume testing on Tuesday, Sept. 7, at their regular scheduled hours.

“Planning ahead helps keep waiting to a minimum,” said Stuart Say, program manager for the Tennessee Vehicle Inspection program administered by Envirotest Systems. “It’s a good idea to take vehicles on Wednesdays and Thursdays when testing volume is usually light and to avoid testing in the final days of the month.”

Envirotest, the world’s leading provider of vehicle emissions testing and inspection, has a contract with the State of Tennessee to test autos for the improvement of air quality in Hamilton County as required by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to meet the Clean Air Act.

“Auto emissions testing has proven effective in helping Tennessee improve its air quality,” Mr. Say said.

Normal hours of operation and testing center locations for Hamilton County are:

· 5206 Austin Road in Hixson and 720 Eastgate Loop in Chattanooga are open Tuesday through Friday from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. with Saturday hours from 7 a.m.-2:30 p.m. for both locations.

· 1620 Riverfront Parkway and 7460 Bonnyshire Drive in Chattanooga are normally open Monday though Friday from 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

We Are Blessed To Have Ron Littlefield As Our Mayor - And Response (2)

Chattanooga is blessed beyond measure to have Ron Littlefield as our mayor.  It is a total travesty our city has had to endure the long frivolous battle with absolutely  no foundation other than disagreement with policy issues.  It has always been a vendetta directed personally at Mayor Littlefield which, if the "interveners" decide to appeal, will be a proven fact.   ...
