Teacher At Howard Elementary For 30 Years

Ermell Mosley Reed, 73, of Chattanooga, died on Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010.

A native of LaFayette, Ga., Ermell was a 1954 graduate of Howard High School. She earned a BS degree from Tennessee A&I State University and an MS degree from University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

She was employed as an educator with Chattanooga City Schools for more than 30 years, serving the students of Howard Elementary School before retiring in 1993.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, East Eight Street, Hazel E. Robinson Bowles Foundation, founding committee member of the Chattanooga Hamilton County Retired Teachers Association and a Golden Life Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Chattanooga Alumnae Chapter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Reed and her parents, Lee Mosley, Sr. and Eloise Suttles Mosley.

Ermell is survived by her devoted brothers, Lee (Ruby) Mosley, Jr. and Reginald Mosley, both of Chattanooga; stepchildren, Rosalyn Reed Hurt, Priscilla Reed Hale and Travis L. Reed, nieces and nephews, stepgrandchildren, cousins, and a host of extended family and friends.

A Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. Omega Omega service will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 2, in the Trammell Chapel of Hardwick & Sons Funeral Home.

The body will lie in state after noon on Thursday in the funeral home chapel.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 3, at First Baptist Church, East Eight St., with Rev. William T. Ladd III officiating. Burial will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Eleanor Ritchey, 86, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, died on Monday, February 13, 2012, at her residence. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Gertrude Anderson, brother, Linn Anderson, one grandchild and two great grandchildren. Kinser, Waldo Oran (Chatsworth)

Waldo Oran Kinser, 58, of Chatsworth, Ga., died Sunday, February 12, 2012 at his residence. Waldo was born May 12, 1953 in Ellijay, Ga., a son of the late Wilbur Oran and Texxie Dotson Kinser; and was also preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Kinser; and sister, Debbie Kinser. Man Tells Police He Just Murdered His Wife
