Eight new county officeholders were sworn in during ceremonies at the Convention Center on Wednesday morning.
In addition, Bill Hullander took the oath as trustee after serving 12 years on the commission. And Chester Bankston moved from the school board to the Hullander District 9 County Commission seat.
Jeff Atherton was sworn in as chancellor by the now-retired Howell Peoples.
Gary Behler, who won a countywide race for Juvenile Court clerk in his first political outing, was installed by Juvenile Court Judge Suzanne Bailey.
New to the County Commission and to elective office are Jim Fields, Joe Graham and Tim Boyd.
Joining the school board are Joe Galloway, David Testerman and Mike Evatt.
Returning officeholders include County Mayor Claude Ramsey, Sheriff Jim Hammond, Circuit Court Clerk Paula Thompson, Criminal Court Clerk Gwen Tidwell, County Clerk Bill Knowles, Register of Deeds Pam Hurst, County Commissioners Fred Skillern, Larry Henry, Warren Mackey, Greg Beck and Jim Coppinger and school board members Everett Fairchild and Jeffrey Wilson.
