Mocs To Host Pep Rally Downtown on Friday

Thursday, September 02, 2010

The Chattanooga community is invited to kickoff the Mocs' 2010 football season with a pep rally on Friday, September 3, at noon in Miller Plaza in downtown Chattanooga.

The event, sponsored by River City Company, will feature Mocs Football Head Coach Russ Huesman, players, coaches, music from the Marching Mocs and plenty of Blue and Gold spirit led by the UTC Cheerleaders and Sugar Mocs.

The Mocs will battle defending SoCon Champion Appalachian State at Finley Stadium on Saturday, September 4. Kickoff is at 3 p.m.

"We want everyone to be a Moc! You certainly don't have to be a UTC student or graduate to be a Mocs fan. We are the Chattanooga Mocs!" said UTC Chancellor Roger Brown. "Ticket sales for this season have reached a record high, so fans are obviously very excited about the upcoming season. It means a lot to our student athletes to have such strong community support."

Fans looking to purchase tickets during the week can do so in three ways:

* Order online on GoMocs.com.

Thank You, Judge Mattice And Chattanooga

I would like to thank Judge Mattice for handing down a 30.5 year sentence for Kathleen Mathews.  Obviously, no amount of jail time, fines, or lashings can bring back Tim Chapin.   A 30-year sentence will, however, make the world just a little safer.  That's what Sgt. Chapin would have wanted.  He was a protector and sacrificed his life so the rest of ... (click for more)
