Tennessee Christian Preparatory School announced that five seventh graders were chosen for Duke University’s Talent Identification Program (TIP). Ethan Loveday, Houston Burns, Caleb Douglas, Gavin Wilson and Calvin Wood scored well enough to participate.
Each year, a TCPS administrator reviews Stanford Achievement (national standardized test) scores to determine which seventh grade students are eligible for TIP. After eligible students are identified, they’re given the opportunity to enroll in TIP and complete the SAT or ACT. Those with the highest scores are invited to a TIP recognition ceremony at a prestigious university.
Through TIP, students become more aware of their unique capabilities, and parents and teachers are given tools to help these students reach their potential. This marks the 30th year TIP has helped exceptional students recognize their gifts and be recognized for them.
The largest program of its kind in America, TIP covers 16 states and has student participation from 6,000 junior high and middle schools.
TCPS is a PreK-12, Christ-centered, interdenominational, state-certified school that offers parents in Cleveland/Bradley County and the surrounding areas an alternative for the education and formation of their children. TCPS is not affiliated with or sponsored by any religious denomination or church.
