The Tennessee Crush traveled to Heritage High School on Saturday night and defeated the Atlanta Prime 30-8 in the first round of the United South football playoffs 30-8.
With the Crush leading 14-0 in the second quarter, game MVP Willie Idelette scored on a free kick after defensive back Al Walker blocked a punt through the end zone.
Idelette later took the opening second half kickoff back 86 yards to give the Crush a 30-0 lead.
After Idelette's touchdown Crush coach Nathan Oneal began to instruct some of his starters to take off their gear and stay healthy for next week's showdown with the Atlanta Cannibals in the semi-finals.
The winner gets to play in the league title game at Finley Stadium on Sept. 25.
The gate and concessions at Saturday's game went to the Heritage Middle School softball team. The team is building dugouts for the softball field.
Langston Muse was named offensive player of the game, while Lonnie While was named top defensive player.
David Strickland, normally a Crush receiver, added 62 yards from the tailback position as the Crush ran the clock as much as possible in the second half.
The Crush move to 11-1 on the season and 10-1 in league play.
