Americana-Freedom, TWS / Shuptrine's Exhibit, Sept. 10-Oct. 19
Shuptrine's announces a special juried exhibition of the Tennessee Watercolor Society. The theme, “Americana~Freedom" will celebrate artists' representations of nostalgia and patriotism, Americana, and what freedom means to them. The jurors are Lois Riggins-Ezzell, executive director of Tennessee State Museum in Nashville, and Leigh Hendry, director of External Affairs, also from the Tennessee State Museum.
A Vested Interest, Oct. 7-Dec.
An exhibit featuring a broad range of works varying in value. This display focuses on the ever-fluctuating art market, the alternate levels of "investment art" and how art can increase in value, even in a sluggish economy. Indulgences, Oct. 28-Nov. 30
An exhibit of paintings displaying a series of heartwarming indulgences and pleasures of the senses. Including the Italian countryside, the gleam of silver, the joy and brilliance of gold and pearls, handpulled etchings on fine papers, and a special selection of nudes. Featuring artists Hunter Eddy, Brett Weaver, Alan Shuptrine, Maggie Vandewalle, and Donna Oehmig.
Autumn Landscapes, a Brett Weaver Artist Workshop, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 16
An artist workshop featuring award-winning artist Brett Weaver. The workshop will focus on composition, and the importance of color, using an Autumn color palette. The workshop will cost $120 per student. All paints will be provided except for white, and is open to art students of all levels.
