The Lee volleyball team warmed up for its invitational tournament this weekend by coasting past host Brewton-Parker College 3-0 on Tuesday evening.
Kayla Carlisle and Val Caboclo (8 kills each) set a sizzling pace at the net as Lee zipped to the 25-12, 25-15, 25-13 triumph. The Lady Flames improved to 7-0 (2-0 conference) and will challenge SCAD Savannah on Friday afternoon in the opening round of the invitational at 3:30. Carlisle had an impressive .545 hitting percentage and Caboclo followed close behind at .538.
Arlene Ferreira tallied seven slams, while Christa Hutchison added six and Irene Ojukwu was next with five. Kelsey Leffew and Gretchen Higdon each dished off 15 assists. Lindsay Shein picked up four aces and Leffew served up three. Higdon was also the digs leader with six. Coach Andrea Hudson used reserves freely and played all 14 players in the SSAC victory.
