Wednesday, September 08, 2010

Hamilton County Council of PTAs will host the 2010-2011 Teacher Supply Depot Opening Day on Saturday, from 8 a.m.-noon at Mary Ann Garber School, 2225 Roanoke Ave.

The opening day is open to all Hamilton County Department Education teachers. Teachers who participate are asked join the PTA. In the few weeks prior to opening, all teachers were given the option to go online and register to attend the opening day.

Registration is full. Officials said, "Because of the dedication of our business and church partners, during our 2009-2010 school year, we were fortunate to have three open days allowing all Hamilton County teachers to add over $24,000 worth of donated items to their classrooms to benefit the educational needs of all Hamilton County students."

"We look forward to another great year. With the continued support of our community partners, we hope to have more open days to come. If any business, church, or community member wishes to become a community partner, we look forward to working with you," it was stated.

"PTA is proud of support this great resource to our public school system. With a tight economy and limited school budgets, we are fortunate to have such great community partners."

Thank You, Judge Mattice And Chattanooga

I would like to thank Judge Mattice for handing down a 30.5 year sentence for Kathleen Mathews.  Obviously, no amount of jail time, fines, or lashings can bring back Tim Chapin.   A 30-year sentence will, however, make the world just a little safer.  That's what Sgt. Chapin would have wanted.  He was a protector and sacrificed his life so the rest of ... (click for more)
