A Wilmington, Ohio, couple was killed Wednesday on U.S. 64 at Ducktown, Tn., when a car went out of control and hit them head-on.
The victims, who were pronounced dead at the scene, were Robert E. Coblentz, 59, and Michelle A. Coblentz, 57.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol said a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Ryan Ehrbar of McCaysville, Ga., veered onto the shoulder, overcorrected and crossed the road’s center line before hitting the motorcycle.
Criminal charges are pending against Ehrbar, who was airlifted to Erlanger Hospital.
The Hyundai was traveling westbound and the motorcycle was going eastbound.
He was not wearing a seatbelt.
Authorities said drugs and alcohol were not involved.
