Chillin’ Like Villains is a young adult social group for individuals who have various disabilities. The group meets once a month at different locations for activities such as sporting events, potluck dinners, movies, etc.

Monday, Sept. 13 – Friday, Sept. 17: Pro-Bike/Pro-Walk National Conference
National Center for Bicycling and Walking will host 600 folks interested in the environment, public health, and energy policies. There is also a special conference session on creating a more livable Chattanooga, geared towards local leadership on Friday, Sept. 17 Call Philip Pugliese at 643-6887.

Cyclists will line-up Saturday, Sept. 18 – 8 a.m. and proceed down MLK Blvd to Riverfront Parkway. The complete route takes participants through towns and areas the Native Americans travelled and ends in Florence, Al. Call 1-877-TOT-TRIP

Friday, Sept. 17: Park(ing) Day Chattanooga citizens, artists and advocates create public parks from parking spaces. Open to everyone. Put up a few benches, maybe a couple of flower boxes, and feed the parking meter for the allowed time. In Chattanooga, Main St. will serve as the hub of activity.

Chickamauga And Chattanooga National Military Park Receives Impact Grant

Bradley County Satellite Property Tax Collection Locations Announced

Bradley County Trustee Mike Smith has released the schedule for the satellite property tax collection locations for February. Mr. Smith said, “The satellite locations have been very popular with taxpayers. Man Tells Police He Just Murdered His Wife

An Chattanooga man told police Monday night that he had just murdered his wife.  Police said Robert Lee Hardnett, 50. showed up at the County Jail to turn himself in at 8:40 p.m. He said his wife's body could be found at his place of employment, Power Supply Company, 1907 Daisy St.   Officers responded to that address and found the body of 34-year-old Elizabeth ... Red Bank Commissioners Choose Kenneth Welch To Replace Greg Jones; Jeno Won't Run Again

The four remaining members of the Red Bank Commission held a special called meeting on Tuesday and chose Kenneth Welch as the replacement for Vice Mayor Greg Jones, who moved to Alaska. I would like to thank Judge Mattice for handing down a 30.5 year sentence for Kathleen Mathews.  Obviously, no amount of jail time, fines, or lashings can bring back Tim Chapin.   A 30-year sentence will, however, make the world just a little safer.  That's what Sgt.
