Bill Acuff To Speak On "Fraud In Divorce" For Association Of Certified Fraud Examiners

The Chattanooga Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners will be meeting on Sept. 21 at The Chattanoogan Hotel from 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. The speaker will be Bill Acuff CPA CFF CFE of Decosimo. The topic will be “Fraud in Divorce.”

Bill Acuff, past chapter president of the Chattanooga ACFE, is director of Forensic Services with Decosimo and has more than 25 years of experience in public accounting, conducting fraud investigations and providing litigation support to attorneys.

In addition to investigating fraud, he and his team of forensic accountants provide proactive fraud risk assessments, evaluate internal controls and help design and implement comprehensive anti-fraud programs, including the use of computer-aided detection tools and
techniques.


Mr. Acuff is a graduate of Tennessee Technological University, with post baccalaureate work at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is a member of the Business Valuation, Forensic Investigations and Litigation Services Committee of the TSCPA. He is also a member of
the Fraud and Forensic Accounting Conference Committee of the GSCPA and serves on the Board of Governors of the Chattanooga area chapter of the IIA.

The cost is $20 for members/non-members, $10 for students. A buffet style lunch is included in the price. Valet parking is available to those attending the luncheon meeting at an additional charge of $3 per vehicle (including tip). Mark Phillips Was Victim In Fatal Hixson Pike Wreck

Mark Phillips, 54, was the victim in a fatal Hixson Pike wreck on Saturday afternoon. Police said the driver of the Ford F150 that went out of control and struck the Phillips vehicle was 68-year-old Warren Elliott.
